Redhill Family Centre
Our new Redhill Family Centre launches November 2019
Following a consultation about how to build Family Resilience, and the closure of 36 Children’s Centres across the county, cabinet members at Surrey County Council agreed to the re-modelling of the remaining Children’s Centres, including Redhill Children’s centre, to create new Family Centres. This is part of a wider Family Service to support the most vulnerable families with children aged 0-11. New Family Centres will be located in areas where children are most likely to experience poor outcomes.
As a result of this, the Board of Trustees at Welcare signed an agreement with Surrey County Council to run the new Redhill Family Centre. We will work closely with our partner providers – East Surrey YMCA, Epsom Downs Primary School and Furzefield Primary (Red Oak) across the area of Reigate and Banstead to meet the needs of local families. A number of staff have transferred to Welcare from local Children’s Centres that have closed. The new Family Centre will launch in November 2019. The work of the new Family Centre will shift from universal services to directed, outreach work with identified families. This page will be updated with details of our new services in November.
In the meantime we continue to run the autumn programme of activities, deliver our Early Help contract for families with children up to the age of 13 in Reigate & Banstead and Tandridge, and deliver our charitably funded work supported by local churches, the Netherby Trust and Community Foundation for Surrey.
We are here to help parents/carers and children, please contact us if you need any information about our services, how the above changes will affect you, or how we can help you and your family.
We can also be contacted by phone on 01737 780884.
