April 2021 UPDATE:
We are taking all necessary precautions to keep our staff, service users and volunteers safe. Our centre is open for pre-booked appointments and we are able to make appointments for foodbags and to buy vitamins. The best way to contact us is by emailing email@example.com or call 01737 780 884
We have different forms and procedures depending on the level of need of the family.
Level 3 referrals need to be made via the Surrey County Council C-SPA (Children’s Single Point of Access Team). They will normally require you to complete a Surrey Children’s Services Request for Support Form which can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The telephone number for the C-SPA is 0300 470 9100. They are open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The out of hours number is 01483 517898 (ask for the emergency duty team). SMS for the deaf or hard of hearing is 07527 182 861.
If you are unsure which level the family need or would like to discuss the case further before making a referral please ring Lynn James, Centre Manager on 07967 092404.

Welcare Family Centre, Redhill, is one of four Family Centres working in partnership covering the borough of Reigate and Banstead to support the most vulnerable families with children aged 0-11 and promote their upbringing. We work closely with our partner providers – East Surrey YMCA, Epsom Downs Primary School and Furzefield Primary (Red Oak) across the area of Reigate and Banstead to meet the needs of local families.
This is a new service commissioned by Surrey County Council and replaces the previous children’s centres. The Family Centre offers one to one family support work and parenting programmes to families identified as being in greatest need of support. This represents a change to the service, which was previously universal and open to all, but will ensure that those facing challenges in their family life have access to the right support at the right time.
Covid-19 permitting, universal services provided by the health team, such as Child Health Drop-In Clinics, will still take place in the centre. In addition there will be a range of targeted services, for example the peri-natal mental health service which supports expectant and new mothers with moderate to severe mental health problems, offering appointments in the centre.
Alongside the work of the Family Centre for the Redhill area, Welcare in East Surrey continues to offer charitably funded services for families living in East Surrey. These services are funded by support from local churches and the Netherby Trust.
It enables us to offer
- one-to-one family support work for families in East Surrey.
- our 10 week My Space programme for children who have been affected by domestic abuse
