Welcare is very grateful for the prayerful and financial support we receive from parishes and team ministries throughout the diocese of Southwark; churches in the deaneries of Bromley, Beckenham and Orpington in the diocese of Rochester; and from the Hampton deanery in the diocese of London.
We have chosen the image of a vine to illustrate the support received from individual churches. A vine has slender stems and uses neighbouring plants, rocks, and other structures for physical support. Vines spread horizontally and vertically giving them remarkable tensile strength, and are resistant to pulling and breaking — all qualities vital to enable our work with children and families.
Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.
Our vine reflects the support of churches in the last twelve months and it is pruned at regular intervals.
