Second Hand Tech Saturdays at Richmond Rugby Club

Richmond Rugby Club launched its Second Hand Tech Saturdays in early 2021 during lockdown.  The initiative encouraged people to donate any unused laptops and tablets by dropping them off at the club on Saturdays, and these were then distributed to local children and families.

The initiative was supported by Veritas Digital Services, who securely erased data, and repaired and refurbished devices before donating them to local schools for distribution to children throughout our community.

In January, over 850 devices were donated and refurbished for reuse by local children and families struggling with home schooling during the dark winter months.

We are very grateful to Richmond Rugby Club  who have made a real difference in the local community and pleased that families supported by Welcare could benefit.
