£250 raised for Welcare in a Lent Lunch

The first of our Welcare Lent Lunches, hosted by our very own Diane Taylor – Executive Assistant to the CEO and Clerk to the Board of Trustees – took place this weekend, raising over £250!

This was the first of 5 Lent Lunches organised by Welcare trustee Megan Pacey among the congregation of St Barnabas Church, Dulwich. This is a great start to the campaign, and we hope many more will be hosted over London and Surrey over the next 5 weeks, as we continue our Lent fundraising efforts.

Diane served up both Spinach & Coconut, and Spicy Lentil & Butternut Squash soup to her 19 guests, along with bread, cheese, and fruit. As is traditional for a Lent Lunch, the costs are kept low, and guests are encouraged to donate at least what they would have paid had they eaten elsewhere.

If you’ve been inspired to host your own Lent Lunch, among friends, family or colleagues, please email us at fundraising@welcare.org and receive a Welcare Lent Lunch pack.
