£11,000 funding secured for Welcare – well done Hannah!

Not one, but three new sources of funding for Welcare

Hannah Franklin, our Inner London Child and Family Support Service Manager, has had multiple successes this month – securing not one, but three new sources of funding for Welcare.

Through applications completed alongside a busy work schedule, Hannah has secured the following:

Awards for All – National Lottery: £9,000

This will go to funding for our Young people’s service. This includes OurPlace, a support group for children beginning to transition into adolescence and secondary school; With Respect, an in-school group which works with children facing emotional difficulties or risk of exclusion; as well as some one-to-one work with young people aged 11-13.

London Catalyst Projects fund: £1,000

This will go towards our Reducing Holiday Hunger programme for Summer 2019, in partnership with North Lambeth Deanery and Together Southwark.

Samaritan Grant London Catalyst: £ 1,000

Designed to help people in immediate need – whether to ensure that children are fed and have access to essentials, or to provide transport to a job interview, this fund will go to helping with service users’ short term needs.

“It’s a great pleasure when we can bring in this kind of support,” says Hannah. “This new funding will make a big difference in our plans for 2019.”
