Host a (virtual) Lent Lunch

Bowl of soup with breadInvite your friends, family and colleagues and help raise money to support families in need in your local area.

This year we are all doing so many things differently. If you would like an excuse to host a virtual get-together and hold a simple Lent lunch in aid of Welcare we will give you all the help and resources we can.

One of our supporters is organising a lunch and her local friends are having a simple lunch delivered to their doors for them to enjoy together on zoom. We can supply Gift Aid envelopes or help you to set up your own JustGiving page for your event. We can even join in via Zoom and give you an update on our work.

Please contact fundraising@welcare.org if you would like any help arranging a Lent lunch in aid of Welcare.

What is a Lent Lunch?

A Lent Lunch takes place during the 6 weeks of Lent and is normally very simple. Think a tasty soup and bread, so you don’t have to break your Lenten fast from cake and chocolate! Hosts will usually prepare a simple meal and ask for donations in return. This year perhaps you could share your favourite recipe with friends and host a virtual cook-along.

It’s a great way to catch up with friends over a bowl of soup or bread and cheese, as well as a great way to raise money and awareness for Welcare.

We can provide you with any materials you might need, such as posters, banners, flyers and Gift Aid Forms.

When?

Lent runs from the 17th February to 3 April 2021. You can host an event on any day in this period

Where?

Anyone can host an event and it can take place anywhere – while we are for the main part limited to our own homes during lockdown, you can either host a lunch within your household or support bubble, or have a virtual lunch using video calling software.
