Welcare is always there for us – whether it’s a major problem or an itsy bitsy tiny one
Janice, mum of three
Our Family Support Services offer a whole family approach and are designed to empower families to reach their full potential. We are a professional, confident and creative support service that works with children up to the age of 13 and their families in times of crisis and beyond.
Our services are supervised by our Head of Practice, who is a senior social worker and designated safeguarding lead. With their expertise we are able to support families in complex and challenging circumstances while managing all aspects of safeguarding.

We work with children and families affected by:
- Domestic abuse and its lasting impact
- Parental conflict and relationship difficulties
- Mental health, emotional and well-being challenges
- Social isolation and lack of support networks
- Low income and the cost-of-living crisis
Welcare was very compassionate and great at communicating with my whole family
Theresa, a mum we have supported
We help families manage:
- Recovery from the trauma of domestic abuse
- Parenting challenges and family dynamics
- Children’s behavioural and developmental difficulties
- Engagement with education and learning
- Emotional and physical welfare needs
Our support begins with an assessment interview to confirm whether we are the most appropriate organisation to offer support. If we work with a family we will agree on a plan of work. For more information about the referrals process, click here.
