Welcare has recently secured funding from the Youth Endowment Fund Covid-19 grant. This is to facilitate work with families referred to us by Lambeth Children, Youth and Family Services, in conjunction with Lambeth Youth Offending Service, supporting young people and their families who have a child or sibling already in the criminal justice system or at severe risk of being so.
Funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, will help us work alongside more parents and children in Inner London, especially those families with more complex challenges and increased exposure to harm. Thanks to the Government for making this possible
We are thrilled to have been awarded a grant from BBC Children In Need to expand our work in Bromley and South East London with children who have been exposed to domestic abuse. Through this funding we will be able to help more children and young people aged 8-13 through our online and one-to-one support.
Congratulations to Ruth Martin who is the Diocesan Secretary and Trustee of Welcare. She and six others were awarded the Lancelot Andrewes Medal by Bishop Christopher for distinguished service during the pandemic on Sunday 27th September. As Diocesan Secretary, Ruth worked with Bishop Christopher on the Coronavirus Task Group.

We are delighted to be awarded a £7,340 grant for our work in Lambeth from Lambeth CLIPs.  This will enable us to deliver digital, phone support and group work to children and families who are in need, including those affected by domestic abuse, income deprivation and mental ill health.
