"A safe place where families can come for help and advice at their point of need - a port in a storm"
Jan Roberts
Welcare in Croydon Administrative Secretary
We offer a safe, impartial and child focussed environment for children to see a parent or relative they would otherwise not see.
We offer supported contact on a Saturday. This means that we have one professional worker and a team of volunteers who run the centre: there are several families using the facilities at the same time. The professional worker and team of volunteers are there to keep an eye on things and to make sure the centre is friendly, supportive and welcoming for the children. They are not there to supervise individual contact sessions.
Some of our centres also offer a very limited supervised contact service. These sessions are for one hour only and there is a charge for using this service. Supervised contact involves having a professional worker sit with and observe a family and supervise proceedings. There are no other families present and the worker remains present throughout the session. The service we offer remains non-reporting and impartial.
All our Child Contact Centres are fully accredited to the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC).
