Local Advisory & Support Groups

Each of our 9 Welcare centres is supported by a Local Advisory and Support Group, often known as 'Friends'.

The group consists of local people - many from churches, some past users of our services, and some from local voluntary organisations or other similar services. They work hard to keep the profile of Welcare high in the local community and on the agenda of local churches, through mailings, talks and publicity materials.

They are vital in raising local funding necessary to keep the work alive. Some are service volunteers in the centre. In addition they provide invaluable informal support to the staff and volunteers, and in some cases offer a chaplaincy role.

To find out more about Local Advisory and Support Groups, or to obtain local contact details, please contact Chris Price, Director of Operations(Development), at Chris.price@welcare.org or on 020 7820 7917
