Congratulations to our Running Stars!!

On an exciting, muggy Sunday last week we went along to support our 5 brilliant runners and walkers. Wearing their bright green Welcare tshirts with pride, #TeamWelcare were amazing representatives for the charity. The day saw around
10,000 runners complete an exciting and picturesque route that makes up part of the London Marathon route, and the atmosphere was buzzing with music, cheers and support.

Our two runners, Catharine Adjei and Phil James, whizzed around the 10k course in fantastic times (1 hour 1 minute and 45 minutes respectively!) and our three walkers, Judy Rambridge, Gillian Scales and Jill Hollamby, definitely weren’t leisurely and walked the entire 10k course in around 2 hours 10 minutes! Our British London 10k participants have all beat their fundraising targets, with more money still coming in! We will keep you updated on the final total raised by the British London 10k after the final amounts have arrived.

We are so grateful to them for choosing to support and represent Welcare and so impressed by their dedication. Our first sporting event was a great success and we look forward to introducing more of them into our fundraising calendar. We will have places for the 2017 Vitality British London 10k Run, so watch this space for more information in the future!

If there is an event that you or your friends or family are taking part in for which you would like to fundraise for Welcare please let us know so we can support you and provide a fundraising pack. Email fundraising@welcare.org or call us on 0207 820 7916.
